Draft Noise Compatibility Program Public Comment Period Open & Public Open House/Hearing

Centennial Airport has published its Draft Noise Compatibility Program (NCP), prepared as part of the Airport’s 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 150 Noise Compatibility Study. The Draft NCP identifies measures intended to address aircraft noise and promote compatible land uses around Centennial Airport based on the FAA-accepted Noise Exposure Maps developed during the Part 150 Study.

The Draft NCP is available for public review and comment from September 28, 2026, through November 7, 2026, at the following locations:

  • Online – View NCP Package
  • Centennial Airport Administration Office – Front Desk (7565 South Peoria Street, Englewood, CO 80112) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Lone Tree Branch of the Douglas County Libraries (10055 Library Way, Lone Tree, CO 80124)

Interested persons are invited to review the Draft NCP and submit comments during the public review period. Written comments must be received no later than November 7, 2026, and may be submitted:

  • Online through the Study website: https://apa150noisestudy.com/contact/
  • At the public hearing on October 28, 2026

Centennial Airport will hold its fourth and final Part 150 Study public open house in conjunction with a public hearing on the Draft NCP on:

Wednesday, October 28, 2026
4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. – brief presentation at 5:00 p.m. with public hearing to follow
Four Points by Sheraton Englewood Centennial Airport
Falcon Meeting Room
7770 South Peoria Street
Englewood, CO 80112

The purpose of the open house and public hearing is to provide information regarding the Draft Noise Compatibility Program and to receive public comments prior to submittal of the final NCP to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for review and approval of the NCP measures. The public hearing portion of the event will provide an opportunity for individuals to offer oral testimony for the official record. Written comments may also be submitted. All oral testimony and written comments received during the public comment period will be included in the Final Part 150 Study. Before including your address, phone number, e-mail address, or other personal identifying information in your comment, be advised that your entire comment – including your personal identifying information – may be made publicly available.

The Part 150 Study is being conducted to identify and evaluate measures that address existing and future aircraft noise exposure and improve compatibility between airport operations and surrounding land uses. The goal of the Study is to reduce the number of people affected by aircraft noise. The Draft NCP was developed with input from community members, local jurisdictions, airport stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.

Project Timeline Update

As the Centennial Airport Part 150 Noise Compatibility Study continues to progress, we wanted to share an update on the project timeline. Over the past several months, the Study Team has been modeling, analyzing, and vetting potential operational, land use, and facility measures for inclusion in the Draft Noise Compatibility Program (NCP) with the Study Advisory Committee (SAC). We will meet with the SAC and Roundtable again later this summer (2026) to finalize the measures that will comprise the Draft NCP. We will then publish the Draft NCP for public review and comment and hold a public hearing. This is anticipated to occur in the Fall of 2026. Following the public review and comment period, the Study Team will make any needed revisions to the NCP and submit it before the end of the 2026 calendar year to the FAA for its approval or disapproval of the NCP measures.

Noise Exposure Maps Public Comment Period Open & Public Open House #3

Centennial Airport has published its Draft Noise Exposure Map (NEM) package, which is one component of the 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 150 Noise Compatibility Study. The document is available for public review and comment through November 30, 2025, at the following locations:

  • Online – View NEM Package
  • Centennial Airport Administration Office – Front Desk (7565 South Peoria Street, Englewood, CO 80112) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

In conjunction with this public review period, Centennial Airport will hold its third Part 150 Study public open house on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with a brief presentation at 5:00 p.m., in the Main Hall at The Lone Tree Hub. The purpose of the meeting is to share and collect feedback on the NEM package before its submittal to the FAA for acceptance. The NEM package includes the final, FAA-approved forecasts of aviation activity; draft Noise Exposure Maps; the results of the land use analysis; and flight tracks. The meeting will cover these topics as well as preliminary alternatives. Anyone interested can stop by at their convenience between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. to view display boards with Study information, speak one-on-one with members of the Study Team and Airport staff, and share their ideas, comments, and questions with the Study Team.

The Study is being conducted to identify and evaluate current and future noise and land use compatibility associated with aircraft operations at Centennial Airport. The goal of the Study is to work with surrounding communities and stakeholders to reduce the number of people affected by aircraft noise. Future meetings will focus on the Noise Compatibility Program.

Public Meeting #1

The first public meeting for the APA Part 150 Noise Study was held January 24, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wings Over the Rockies Exploration of Flight (13005 Wings Way, Centennial, CO 80112). The meeting provided an introduction of the study team, an overview of the study process, the study advisory committee role, airport constraints, previous APA Part 150 Studies, study parameters, forecasts, noise background/accepted noise exposure maps, and the schedule of the Study. The meeting was an open house session where attendees could view displays, ask questions, and provide comments to the study team.
